Quintessential Thought
Feeling like your team is stuck in a productivity rut? Many teams struggle with bottlenecks and inefficiencies, watching deadlines loom as tasks pile up on their desks.
Consider the Delegation Tree, a simple yet powerful framework that can help you consider which decisions you can delegate to remove decision latency bottlenecks. The Delegation Tree provides a helpful approach to assessing the risks & impacts, categorizing decisions, and selecting the most effective delegation approach for each.
Is it a “leaf-level” decision that’s low risk – delegate it completely. “Branch-level” decisions can be delegated within loose boundaries since the risk is higher, but not critical. “Trunk-level” are high risk and impact decisions that need tight boundaries and your leadership involvement. “Root-level” decisions are critical to the existence of your business and need to be held more closely.
You can read more about the Delegation Tree here. By understanding where your time is best spent and which tasks can be delegated effectively, you can create a system that flows, not jams.
