Quintessential Thought
There’s a lot of discussions around vision out there - how to craft it, what value it adds, why it’s needed. A vision is important, yes. But the goal is not just to create it and it sits on a shelf somewhere. We need to be constantly talking about our vision for our product - where are we going and why should I care?
What this unlocks is freedom and creativity. How it does this is through thinking multiple steps ahead. Instead of just reacting to the next high priority, we can envelope our decisions with our ultimate destination, asking questions like “how can we build this in a way towards our vision?” or a negotiation, such as “is this distracting us from our vision?” The first step is create it. The second is talk about it. The third is repeat Step 2.
