The Change Hypothesis is a simple template to analyze different perspectives on the change and articulate your vision clearly and concisely.

Here’s the template:
We believe that, by [taking these actions],
 we will [achieve this desired future state]
 and avoid [the current status quo pain points].
We'll observe if that's happening by [reviewing these measures].

Why is it Powerful?

  • Adaptability: Viewing change as a hypothesis allows for flexibility. Be open to new ideas and adjust your approach as needed.

  • Activate: Clear action steps encourage others to participate in making the change happen.

  • Shared Vision: Describing the desired future state and the pain of the status quo paints a clear picture of what success looks like, motivating others to engage.

  • Empowerment: Defining success measures sets clear boundaries, allowing your team ownership over achieving the goals.
